Proxy Login
St. Andrew’s School students, faculty and staff can access licensed Library resources including eJournals, electronic indexes and databases, and other resources from off-campus computers via the Library Proxy Server. The proxy technology will be slightly slower than your normal internet access. Dial-up users are strongly encouraged to use high speed access (maybe a local library) to access databases.
What is the Proxy Server? The Proxy Server is a piece of software that sits between your web browser and the Irene duPont Library server. The Proxy Server intercepts all your requests to the Library server to see if it can fulfill the requests itself. If not, it forwards the request to the Library server. Its main purpose is to control user access to specific websites. For example, the Library uses a Proxy Server to allow only authorized SAS users to access licensed Library electronic resources located at certain websites.
What do I need? You must know the remote username and password in order to gain access. Please contact a librarian if you have problems connecting to the remote access.
